A Meeting in Amsterdam

As Robert Moretti walks to the check-in desk of the Schiphol Airport, he happens to see a woman of unparalleled beauty. Instantly mesmerized, he follows her with his gaze and notices the fortuitous drop of a card. This brief chance meeting will lead Robert to question his own purpose in life and set out on a journey to find the woman - Giovanna Montesi - and himself. Unbeknownst to him, in the way of his intentions stand Pietro Agnello, an eccentric self-made man with a shady past and a darker future, and Rachel Luzac, an easy-going no-strings-attached kind of person and Robert's self-proclaimed girlfriend. When their interactions unfold, the reader will come to know the rivalry between the Mafia families Sardelli and Romagnoli, the misconduts and concealments in a parish in the northern reaches of Italy, the closure of a young mother deprived of her son, and the tragedies and grudges that shaped these characters.
